I qualified to teach Hypnobirthing and Pregnancy yoga after the birth of my son Easton.  I came out of the other side of those sleep deprived and bleary eyed first few months on a mission to support other mums to be to prepare for the start to motherhood they deserve. 

When I was pregnant, I was absolutely shitting it about how I was going to cope with it all.I felt scared, I was worried about what might go wrong with the birth.

At the time I was still working really long hours in my job as a fashion buyer. Yoga, meditation and and acupuncture were lifesavers to help me take the edge off all the stress. When we finally discovered the magic of Hypnobirthing, Well that was what they call, a game changer. 

Both me and my partner had a complete mindset shift. Over the course of 4 short weeks, I went from feeling stressed and worried to feeling excited and actually even looking forward to the birth; Which although it didn’t go 100% to plan, was a beautiful, empowering experience. The lights were low, Prince was playing on Spotify. It was a far cry from the births I had seen on TV! 

I hadn’t given much thought to looking after a newborn and I was sure all those 4 day Glastonbury benders would mean I could nail sleep deprivation with my eyes closed! 

When it came to it though, the first few months of Motherhood were really tough.There was blood, sweat, tears, and god knows whose poo. I cried more times than I care to remember over spilt breast milk. I needed help. 

This is all part the reason I offer wrap around postnatal support in addition to the birth prep.
